Why do we fall asleep early in the morning on holidays?

 

  1. Relaxed Schedule – Without the pressure of waking up early for work or school, we stay up late, knowing we can sleep in.
  2. Social Activities – Late-night gatherings, movies, gaming, or scrolling social media keep us awake longer.
  3. Altered Sleep Cycle – On regular days, we follow a fixed sleep pattern, but holidays disrupt this rhythm as we shift towards a "night owl" routine.
  4. Increased Screen Time – Watching TV, using smartphones, or gaming exposes us to blue light, delaying melatonin production (the sleep hormone).
  5. Overeating & Caffeine Intake – Holiday snacks, coffee, or energy drinks can keep us awake longer.
  6. Desire to Maximize Free Time – Since holidays are limited, we unconsciously try to make the most of them by staying awake longer.
